About the workshops
Planting your Dreams was created with the intention of providing young women with the necessary tools to grow and shine love. Girls will learn the importance of conscious language, self-love and the benefits of sisterhood. Join us on the beautiful grounds of Shanti Heart for this exciting retreat style workshop. Only nine spaces available, so register today! No yoga experience necessary. A small lunch will be provided. Welcoming girls ages 12- 17; Price: $150 for the full workshop. Time: 10:00am – 2:00pm
Day 1: Sunday August 4,2019 – Planting the Seed
The intention for day 1 is to bring awareness to the importance of love and conscious language. The day will start off with a gentle grounding asana practice. Students will then participate in pottery painting and planting. In the end the individual will leave with a painted pot, a plant to care for, and techniques on conscious language.
Day 2: Sunday August 11, 2019 – Creating your Dreams
Students will complete a project meant to help them find their own creative spirit, learn how to express themselves and learn how to love themselves. The day will start with a creative flow that focuses on fun postures. Students will then participate in a discussion on their dreams, which will lead to a class on making a dream catcher.
Meet the Instructors
Hi! My name is Okema, I completed my 200-hour yoga certification at Shanti Heart Yoga & Wellness, registered through Yoga Alliance. I focus my teaching on the use of artistic expression as a way of self-healing. My intention is to promote self-love and self-awareness through yoga and my art. I have a background in Native American spiritual healing, which I like to implement in my lessons. I’m also a certified pet stylist of 5 years with a love for animals and nature.
Namaste! My name is Valeria Costa, I am a RYT 200-hour certified yoga teacher and an artist. I completed my training at the beautiful grounds of Shanti Heart Yoga & Wellness. I have passion for the ideas and the practice of yoga. I am currently working towards a bachelor’s degree in graphic art and I have been an artist nearly all my life. I believe that creativity and yoga are powerful tools that can help one focus, learn and accept. Yoga means “to unite,” and my desire is to connect art and yoga so that others can feel the healing power of both disciplines.
